My early idea of what topics I want to explore for this semester.
An exercise that helps me generate great ideas by using the format of "Technology + Industry + Social Impact"
In this exercise, I picked one item from each category and place them together by using this structure: "I'm exploring how TECHNOLOGY in INDUSTRY/COMMUNITY can help SOCIAL IMPACT."
The idea of this exercise is forming your sentence as quickly as you can and see what make sense or inspire you.
Here are some examples of what I came up with.
After considering the impact that my design will have for the world, I decided to choose this concept to start with. Climate change has been a big issue for the past decade. However, people haven't realized how serious it will become and how much impact climate changes will have in our daily life. By building this installation, I hope people could understand more how human activities systematically affect our environment and what can we do about it.
From a personal standpoint, I wish I would learn more about what sustainability means in the long term and explore how can an interaction designer help to build a sustainable lifestyle.
When I was sketching out my early concepts, I haven't done any research on the topic that I want to focus on. So the concepts turned out only limited to my current knowledge and understanding of those topics. I did some research after sketching and surprisingly found out that the concept of sustainability not only apply to the environment but also could apply to the economy and society.
Next time, I will do my research first before getting into any brainstorming section because this will help me broaden my point of views
