At the beginning of the workshop, the team asked us to write down the skills we learned during the school year and what are the resources we have. At first I had no idea what to write because I feel like almost all the skill I learned from class were "required" by the class, not necessary a special skills that I'm proud of that is worth to mention about. And then soon enough I realized it was not a competition, but a reflection on myself. Then I started to exam myself and wrote down these skills; System thinking--as a designer, we response for not only the design itself by also the impact in brings to people, to the environment, so thinking in a system is a must to have skill. Programming--although I heard a lot of people say it is not necessary to code as an interaction designer, but as my defense, know how to code is a very powerful tool because a lot of powerful prototyping tool requires you know a little bit of code while the ability of rapid prototyping will helps pushing the design process. This are the two skills that I think is most important for me right now.

The last part of the workshop was to think about what's my core value and principles as a designer. I didn't choose to become a designer because I like design, I choose to become a designer because I didn't want to become a lawyer or an engineer; I wanted to be able to to contribute and bring good to people and become a designer is the closest career that I can thinking of that can fulfill my wish. After three years of college, I still feel the desire to bring good to people, so I put it as my core value.

The best take away from this workshop is to know that I'm still holding my original intention which is want to bring good to people. This intention might or might not change after I graduate and need to be realistic in order to survive, but until then, I will be thankful that I'm able to follow my own desire and my own passion as a designer.
