Climate change is a big topic to tagle. I had a hard time to find one specific area to focus on because all of them sounds severe enough to draw attention toward them. That lead me to a question: Climate change already here, but why people aren't care enough about climate change? This question leads me to another area of research and open up some possibilities for my thesis.
So I started to look into articles that talk about the concern of why we don't care about climate change. One of the article mentions "The thing is, we do care. It’s just that we don’t see any good solution being put forward". Looking back to articles posted on websites, medias and news, negative comments, predictions and communication about climate change flooded all over the place. The way that media communicate with public just aren’t opening the dialogue in a way that the average person can relate to, and feel that they can make a positive change.
Hence, I want to explore how language framing will affect public's perception about climate change. Are we able to provoke positive change by framing climate change in a way that people can relate to? For the next week, I will do a quick user test on the power of language framing by showing multiple pictures related to climate change but show both negative and positive slogan.
